SW YIU ECOLOGY

I am Sze Wing, a wildlife ecologist based in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am currently working at the Department of Conservation, Te Papa Atawhai, as a senior science advisor. Originally from Hong Kong, I spent seven years in South Africa conducting PhD and postdoctoral research on large carnivores and herbivores. Since moving to New Zealand in 2020, my work has focused on invasive mammalian predators and introduced ungulates. Beyond research, I am a keen wildlife photographer and birdwatcher, with a passion for inspiring appreciation of our natural heritage through photography.
